Slots-a-fun makeover

Supposedly   SLots-A-Fun is getting a makeover as a tribute to its former self.

Among reported features:

- Lots of coin operated slots and VP

- vintage slots from the 90's

- $10 table games

- $1 and $2 snacks and  a cheap shrimp cocktail

I'd be interested to hear if anyone has checked it out.

I used to love popping in there back in the old days when New Frontier and Stardust were its neighbors.   They had $1 margaritas and strawberry shortcake.     And it was cool to have a craps table set up five feet off the sidewalk out front.

And don't forget those fabulous 75-cent footlong hot dogs they offered. I survived a few of those..way back.

Significant that they couldn't bring themselves to extend the nostalgia shtick to having low table game limits.

It used to be one of the two casinos in town that weren't classy enough for homeless people (the Western downtown being the other). I remember that craps table. One time, I was playing there, and a drunk shooter heaved the dice all the way out into the street.

I also recall the weirdest ever few minutes of blackjack in my life...at their $1 tables. I got dealt six pat 20s in a row. I lost all six. I then got dealt six hard 12s in a row, I won all six.

It won't be an authentic Slots Of Fun experience, though, unless a drunk throws up on you.

I know I'm dating myself, but I played at Slots back when they had the Bonus Wheel Blackjack game.  If you got a natural blackjack you could spin the Bonus Wheel and get a $5 to $50 bonus.  Last time I played there was about 2009, with my brother and we left about $300 up.  My wife liked the craps, but I don't think anyone ever tossed the dice in the street.  LOL

Would love to check it out. But parking non existent. My next trip June.

I won't be walking in triple digits.

Just park at Circus-Circus and walk through the casino in some air conditioning, and then the 25 step walk from Circus Circus to Slots A Fun.  Circus Circus used to have a frozen drink station right near the exit to Slots, so you could always pick up a nice Daquirri or Marguarita.  They had it last summer, but not sure if it's still there.

Thanks for information all.I will probably pay the $6 bucks.

maybe try the walk though Circus Circus. Haven't been to Slots a Lot recently.

yet will go for coin slots fun.

We were there several weeks ago they had already moved some coin slots in. Now I read about the additions they are planning to add, slots and eats. Plan on spending some time when there in November, it is getting to look like it may resemble the SOF as it was in it's (glory days). All they need to do is add Strawberryshortcake like used to be available at the HO. Between coin in, cheap beer, and food this would make it a must stop.

For sure I miss glory days.
