SLS Rooms

Hey All,

I've been away for a few years (had a kid!) but am headed back to Vegas with my wife for the first time in a while. We're staying at SLS for a couple nights (free - mailer) and have never been. I've heard the rooms are... odd, with some nice and some super small, depending on the tower.

From what I understand, the Lux tower is the best, the world tower being the largest (in terms of # of rooms) and the story tower having the smallest rooms (designed like a boutique).

Any thoughts on the rooms from those of you who have stayed here?

I'm hoping to get a room in the world or Lux tower (and not the smaller story tower rooms) basically for the size. Can you request what tower you'd like or is it luck of the draw? Any advice or info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Well it will be luck of the draw if you don't ask for what you want.

Put on your friendliest yet expectant personality, say to the check-in person "Hello, first time back to Vegas in a while and we are so excited. We'd like a room in the Lux tower (as you hand over your ID with the corner of a $20 showing).

Haven't stayed there, just my standard advice. Don't settle. If he/she says they don't have one in Lux tower cleaned and ready, say " No problem. We'll store our luggage until you have one ready, here is my cell phone number."
Thanks for the suggestion Candy!
I had a room in the World Tower and it was okay. We didn't actually stay in it, I just booked it to see what it was like and use the offer components.

I can't remember exactly what the guy told me when I booked, but he said something about the Story Tower rooms being mostly for club-goer types, so I wouldn't expect to just get that as their cheapest room or anything. However, marketing offers that I've received have always been specific about room type (always World Tower for me), so I'm not sure how flexible they are about requests.

Thanks Mare! We're actually hoping for the World Tower as the rooms are supposed to be larger. From the video I saw, the Story Tower rooms seem really modern in terms of decor, but are oddly laid out and small.
