Stays have gone from 5 days to 1

Since they added resort fee to comped platinum rooms I have reduced my stay from 5 days each trip to 1. I have also lost platinum status due to my lack of play. I only stay when I can't get a comped room somewhere else. Will be staying 8 days my next trip and will spend one night in a Rio comped room. I do get better treatment elsewhere .I wonder how many others have left ceasars since platinum is basically worthless and the added resort fee
I was platunum for many years and was also upset when they started charging me the resort fee. Still, for a three night stay, it averaged less than $30 per night. I don't drive in Vegas, so the convenience of a central Strip location was still worth it to me.

Last year when CET had the promo bonus tier points for play January-March, I got a nice start toward Diamond. Finally by September, with a little help from my husband, I made Diamond. I can't say how it will go this year as I have about 1,300 tier as of today.

I guess the resort fees have become a permanent part of the Vegas experience at just about every strip or downtown hotel.

No resort fee for Diamond!
I also hate the resort fees, but where else can you stay in a 4 star hotel for that price. Hotel costs are only a small part of my Vegas budget. Hubby and I going to a decent restaurant costs more than our hotel bill for 3 nights.

And I cover these costs with my RCs.
CET has become our last choice when selecting rooms in Vegas because of the resort fee (we're both Platinum). I'm with the OP on this one - if I have a comp room somewhere else with no resort fee, that's where I'm staying. On our last trip in November, we stayed at Orleans, M Resort and Green Valley Ranch. For our trip coming up in May we'll be staying at Orleans and M Resort. I don't think we'll be spending hardly any time on the strip - and that's just fine!! I've also stopped staying at the Horseshoe in Shreveport because of the resort fee. I'll stay at the relatively new Margaritaville instead.

If I were in a position for those comped rooms, I don't think a RF would alter the length of my stay. I can see though how some feel they have "earned" the free room and they're probably right. Beyond that, I wonder why most even deal with the strip problems. Comps are easier elsewhere and the gaming is much better. I'm sure many would say they prefer the strip and that's fine. The strip will come with a price though whether it's rooms, gaming or food. It's a fact of life.

Good Luck!
