taking room charges out of reward credits: any ideas?

thanks again for all the suggestions! I have also experienced discounts off a la carte at CET based on card status. I will likely be using a lot of my race-to-600 bucks credits at dining, since most of my weekdays (comped) and most weekend (obscenely overpriced) get handled other ways. A great way to make your TR credits go further is to use them with LVA coupons. This year there are alot of CET locations in the book - best CET ones are 2/1 buffet at Rio, $10 off (limit 2) buffets at both Paris and Planet Hollywood. The 2/1 burger at the Burger place in Paris/Ballys is also a good deal IMO (great burgers). Also other buffet coupons and show coupons.

Use your TR credits at the restaurants, etc. because the tax is subtracted. Thus you will save more by not putting it on your room charge.


I do this also to save on the taxes, but a friend of mine is there right now and she said they did charge the taxes even though she was using her reward credits. Has this happened to anyone else??
