Tell me something good about the Flamingo hotel/Fab Rooms?

I lucked up and got 5 nights comped at the Flamingo for fight weekend (4/29-5/4). The wife wanted to return to vegas because her 22 yr old son (my step son) was traveling with his girl that weekend but their travel partners just backed out! I think that she is concerned about those 2 being in Vegas by themselves on that crazy weekend. Any reason worked for me, although we just returned from Vegas on March 25th!!

To say that I was shocked when I pulled out my TR offers and saw that those 5 days were being offered, is an understatement. The next day when I checked the fight Friday and Saturday were listed as $211.00 and "options". I haven't stayed at the Flamingo in probably 10 years. I don't need to hear any of the bad stuff about the hotel ( I can pull that up elsewhere in LVA). I am curious about the FAB rooms ( 2 queens non smoking). If anyone has had any experience with those then please let me know about any reccomendations. I'm platinum and I believe that I can check in at the Diamond registration so I'm not opposed to asking about a specific room before the week end fight crowd arrives ( I arrive Weds night, the wife arrives the next day). We check out Monday 5/4!!
You definitely can use the Diamond check in at the Flamingo. The Fab rooms are fine for me. Low frills but perfectly serviceable. Instead of carpeting they have laminate flooring. The bathrooms are pretty tiny and I find the showers a bit weak. In terms of requesting a room the only differences Ive noted in any fab rooms is the view- strip/pool/high roller.

Thanks PB!!!
The Fab rooms are nothing special, but more than adequate. If you were able to get the room comped for that fight weekend, you got one hell of a deal my friend...congratulations.

Thanks Biglar
Just noticed on my TR sheet that a Go room - High Roller view, just became available on the comp side. I rebooked my room, with a Flamingo phone person who was named "Ceasar" (true story). King non-smoking. Not sure if I should get excited about the "High roller view" but from all indications, on various boards, the Go room is nicer than the Fab room (Ceasar agreed too!)
I *love* the Go rooms. Definitely a step up from the Fab rooms. Who cares about the view.....4 hours a night in the room to sleep
