Tell me something GOOD about the Riviera!!

I'm thinking about booking the Riv's 3 comped nights plus FSP/Buffets/Comedy club offer for my girls brother so he can join us in Vegas! My girl and I are good to go at PHo but I do plan on using the Riv FSP, 2 buffets and comedy club (he'll never know)! I may even try the rebate... but I want to sell him on the virtues of the Riv!

Don't know why they sent me an offer, I haven't played there in over 3 /4 years! I've heard all the rags about the Riv so please just give me the good stuff!! (If there is any good stuff)!

Riviera is much improved (at least from the casino perspective).

Eats:
The new Irish Pub is a really good eatery with a good selection of drafts and bar food. I have not tried the buffet recently but word has it that its much improved. And then there is the attached food court in the buidling next door which has a really good fast-food Indian place - India Marsala.

Gambling:
arguably the best place to gamble now on the strip. Single Zero roulette wheels and 3/2 blackjack. Limits are lower than mid strip (mostly $10 tables). The machines are "blah" but they are pretty generous with free slot play.

Shows:
Crazy Girls: Its a one hour show with nudity and sometimes funny jokes (sometimes not). I was entertained for about 30 minutes and then got bored. You can score tickets for $20 which makes the show worth seeing once. I wouldn't o a second time.
Comedy Club: They book the same touring comics that go accross the country. Expect to see the same talent you see at your local comedy club in Anytown, USA. Again, look for discounted tickets. Paying more than $20 is too much but otherwise its worthwhile.

Rooms:
I think they have been renovtating some rooms. I have not stayed recently. Likely if you are getting an offer for free rooms its not going to be one of the renovated ones.
Something good about the Riv . . . hmmm . . .
1) Statue butts
2) hmmm

I'm now hearing that if you like Pinball, they have some machines from the Pinball Hall Of Fame.

Otherwise the last time I was in there was last year to play the LVA Coupon for Freeplay once some play had been done (which I used on the Virtual Blackjack).

I love the table games there. For some reason I always have luck there and the dealers have always been very friendly.
I'm sure winning has a lot to do with that. They are pretty easy with comps.

I think your friend would be happy and hay he is not paying for the room.

I'll join you at the Riviera for a bit and possibly a lot one day if I don't show up in the system as I'll plan to do the new members promo. FYI, there's an ACG coupon for 2 free tickets to the Comedy Club and a $10 MP coupon. The MRB has a number of coupons, including one that gives you $10 in FSP for a $50 Bingo Buy In (that coupon speaks to me!) and one free blue Bingo pack with a $25 Bingo buy in.
Fun casino with a great vibe - and they are very serious about working to give you a good experience.
\now - if only they would let you kick the batker out front in the nuts . . . . He is SO annoying

Had a great couple hours in the Riv casino a couple trips ago. Every machine I touched paid out...honest. I liked the 'old' atmosphere, old machines, some new fun penny machines. Made a quick $500 hit on Joker Poker, old machine. Casino had kind of an 'old popcorn' smell, but sounds like remodeling is happening. Liked the clientel in there, too. Cursed that I didn't have my camera when I saw a "Maxine" lookalike (except worse hair and clothing) playing a slot, wheelchair, lighting up with oxygen tank by her side. My kinda folks.
