Things are a changin

I have not paid for a hotel room in years and years, cannot remember the last time. Now New Orleans no weekend nights free and A.C. Ballys no free weekends. BALLYS REALLY! so I called and they said nope. Also noticed my calendar prices everywhere have gone up and offers have gone down.
I am thinking this is the back-lash from the Great Race. Caesars screwed up on this one, you should have had to earn 200 points per place. Clearly their PR department needs an over-haul, huge mistake on their part. They must have lost their ***. They lost, and now when the people try other casinos they will lose again. I still love Caesars Palace and so far I still get free nights for how long who Knows.

We are going to LV Feb. 12-14. Even as a low roller I usually can get free rooms at Bally's and this time I am only getting 2 free nights and paying for one. We are taking friends with us and, yes, we will be spending our Race to Rewards credits to pay for most of our trip. Yea!!!!

HMM I also always have free and have to pay for a hotel for the first time in years. Perhaps it is consequence from the race. It's only 40 for a Saturday but still.

Same here. I'm useless platinum but have never paid for a room in Vegas. We're going last week of April, Sunday-Wednesday, and all of the casinos have a nightly rate, even the dreaded IP!

Been a Diamond since the beginning and could always get Caesars Las Vegas rooms comped until now. Can't even get them during the week. All their other las Vegas properties can only get Sunday thru Thursdays comped. Complained to customer service by to no avail.

I am in the same boat - if this is due to the Great Race, I sure wish I had participated so I could use the points! I was getting a mailer almost daily during Dec for Jan and Feb for offers I could not use and now haven't gotten anything for at least a month. I am on the fence about how much more heavily I want to invest while we see how this will all shake out. I do have comped stays booked for March and April so I guess we shall see. Oddly I have not really heard anything about this anywhere else - I was beginning to think it was just me!

I also have been Diamond since TR began. I have been shocked (shocked I tell you ) to see room rates instead of FREE or COMP. I too have been thinking they want some of that Great Race $$ back.

MOF I've also been wondering if this was the Great Race plan all along. Since it was well-known that for very little play, Harrah's always gave out free rooms. Maybe they wanted to change that marketing approach. So perhaps instead of just cutting everyone off abruptly, they would make the transition to paying for rooms less painful by padding everyone's reward credits accounts with $600.

Just a thought.

I have offers for comped rooms that don't show up when I try to book online. Have to call to book. I think they are in the process of changing the "My Offers" webpage and in the process it screwed up everything else. A few weeks ago, I tried to book an offer for Laughlin online, it said "croomed" and did not list the nights as comped. When I called, the person I spoke with said it meant comped, LOL.

I visited and played at 5 properties during the Great Race and have played heavily since. Unless someone only got 1 point at each property, I don't think that's the reason for the lack of comped rooms.

Lisa, you might be right about the website being screwed up. I just checked again, and rooms that showed rates a few days ago are now free or comped..

I am going for a week in March and I am getting 7 nights for free thanks to HET/CET!
