total rewards Credit card

I just recieved a letter from Bank of america that they are ending thier association with TR. in March..when i tried the link on harrahs website to apply for the card, it came up sorry this is discontinued. Will they pick up another bank card or will we have to go gambling more often not lose our credits
I expect they'll pick up another. I got a survey awhile back asking about what I would want in a TR credit card.
I just got this as well....the only reason I have it is to keep my reward credits active. I guess if they don't I'll being buying credits on Facebook in Caesar's Casino to keep them active
That kinda stinks. I got a card a few years ago, and started using it for all my day to day purchases in order to get points*. I moved to a Southwest card this summer, though. In working the math, the B of A TR card gave me 1% cash back that could only be spent with CET properties, while the SW card is around 2-2.5% back that can be spent on flights. And I get way more points by doing the Great Race promo once a year than I earned using the credit card. And when you combine those points with CET offers, I'm getting more bang for my buck. Though I do like how I can keep my points active using the card if I can't get to a CET property every six months.

*Usual caveat: if you use a credit card in order to earn rewards like I do, be sure you can pay it off every month. It can take a bit of discipline to do this, but it's nice to get something back for managing your finances.

I emailed TR about this and their response was that there is not currently a new credit card option. However, check their website on April 1st for "exciting news"
Got my letter too. Will likely keep that BOA card because of the credit limit. Hopefully CET will cut a new deal with another banker so we can keep getting those points.
I am dumping mine.

What get me angry at BOA is there assumption that I would want their new card that is a revolving line of credit not a credit card exactly.

If you read the fine print it said transactions on their new card do not need to be approved even if it is less than the implied credit limit. It gives back 1% on purchases.

So who wants to carry a card that clearly states it may not be approved.

I asked them to not bother sending me the new card and they said they cannot it comes automatically.

So much for them doing what they can "for my protection". It is nonsense... if they wanted to protect me they would not issue me a card I want to decline.

I have a low opinion of BofA anyway and see no reason to keep their card. SWA is my preferred by a long shot.
Havn't been to a Vegas Harrahs this year, so will probably just use up my credits on this coming visit and not worry about them.
