It never really seemed to have an identity as long as I've been going to Vegas.   It had a really nice pool which made you think it could be a day club hotspot...and their shows tended to feature alot of modern rock....

but the customer they primarily marketed to was senior citizens.     Every time I went there it seemed like there was a line of  buses lined up dumping off seniors from the local nursing homes.

The Palms had a similar identity crisis in its later years before they sold it.

I would have rather seen the OYO go instead of Tropicana but in the end I didnt spend much time at either place.

Didn't play there much, but I remember the colorful birds on the second (?) floor, the stained glass ceiling in the casino.  Something else was of interest that drew us to stop in every trip (many, many years ago), but I can't remember what it was.  Must have been a coupon!  LOL.

I rarely visited there, as it was a Strip property--whoopee! I only remember that they had the first really elaborate hotel pool (others eventually followed suit) and they had a long-running $200 loss rebate promo--hard to miss, as they hung up banners advertising it. My nephew and I played VP during that promo; I lost the requisite $200 in short order (and was duly reimbursed with free play), but my nephew absolutely couldn't lose, kept getting quads, and cashed out up $330. I told him that he had screwed up the promo :)

Loved the Spa and pool. Yet it had more appeal in early years What was all those little houses on front

of building. I stayed there often years ago. No resort fee. Reasonable rates. Past 10 years comic show

once in a while. They increased cost of that as well.  The one thing I feel bad about stained glass ceiling Hope it finds a new home. Some of us seniors still have fire.

It was a great promo.   At one time they had a multiline quarter 8/5 BP in high limit that was perfect for hustling this promotion.   And you could always count on at least one mailer after the initial trip.

My wife and I would go there occasionally for a free wheel spin opportunity where you could win various prizes and coupons.

We would go there for the comedy club & the other shows.

Stayed there once in 2019 using my Hilton Diamond points.  Nice room.  The stained glass ceiling was great although the gambling wasn't.

One more of the final old Casinos on the Strip.
Will miss memories of it's hay day
