Considering their customer base is aimed at seniors I'm guessing they are seriously in the hurt-box right now.

The Trop has two things going for it:
1. Location location location.
2. A major Vegas street is named after it.
That aside, it's pretty outdated. The ceilings are low and the whole place feels kind of claustrophobic. They have a nice multi-pool that at the time it was built, was the best in Vegas. Now, not so much. I call it the Garbage Can-a.
I predict it gets purchased for cheap, blasted to the ground, and a new fancy-ass property, also named Tropicana, rises in its place. Rooms available for $349 plus a $59 resort fee. 6:5 blackjack and 20 bucks to park. Whee!
I found the casino to be small, with limited payouts & the food choices limited. The stained glass over the tables is cool.
It does have an agreement with Doubletree (Hilton) so we stayed there for free wiht my Hilton points.
I always pop in on my visits. They are generous with comps and food vouchers. I liked the Prince tribute show last time. It had a red-head dancer who might qualify as the hotest chick in the city.
The take-out Chinese food joint, Red Lotus, makes an awesome Kung-po
And their lounge next to the showroom serves up some mean craft cocktails at fair prices (by Strip standards anyway).
Yeah, theres lots of grandmas walking around with walkers. So what? Thats better than dealing with the little shits at Excalibur.

LOL, agree about "the little shits." But that's the thing, not every Vegas visitor is looking for the nightclub scene. Some of us old goats (I'm not on a walker yet) don't need rockin' out music all the time. That Chinese take out and reasonably priced craft cocktails would be very pleasing to us. Will have to mosey down there, if we ever make it back.
The Comedy Stop was pretty good in its day.
Saw Raiding the Rock Vault there a few years ago. It was a great show
I actually preferred it before it was remodeled. Just too much white inside and outside, which made it look much more bland to me.
And I'll also take seniors any day over little shits. Well, for that matter, over big shits.
Seniors are preferred. They don't distract my concentration when I'm gambling the way young, amateur drinkers do when walking through a casino, beating their chests so to speak, yelling at the top of their lungs just to hear themselves, taking up seats at VP games while texting away with no intention of playing, etc etc etc.
I often leave the Strip to play at local casinos looking for better pay tables and often times, the casino is filled with seniors. So what? For me, it's all about the entertainment of gambling, finding machines with the best odds and hopefully winning more than I'm losing.
Am I missing something here?
I liked the Tropicana years ago They did a remodel years ago Not much better The front with the funny old buildings is odd I do love the glass ceiling in the Casino So if they ever do a real remodel would like
to see it kept somehow
I used to say there all the time Comped rooms I actually love the
vintage pool area The divide I had a pool pool section I believe no
children I love kids Yet I also love to relax Well after the so called remodel
now I stay at Flamingo I couldn't find a reasonable price at Tropacana
Pool I do miss you
