tunica miss

i am going to tunica for 2 days. which casino is nicer to stay in horshoe or harrahs. i have never been to tunica. thanks
The Horseshoe Is the best and you can walk to the Gold Strike and The Roadhouse, that nare right next door.
Good luck Always,
Dick From Milwaukee
Has the Horseshoe remodeled all its rooms lately? Its been two years since i was last there ( maybe three ) and the room i had was terrible. Broken drawers, threadbare carpet, saggy mattress, etc. We had to check out and go to Harrah's. Might want to make a call and check.
Roadhouse had done some of the furniture when I was there a couple of months ago. The roadhouse has nice jacuzzis in all the rooms.

Although Horseshoe could stand a little updating, most of the rooms at Harrah's could stand even more updating. There are three separate hotels that make up the Harrah's property, and two of the three are offsite, connected via a shuttle. Horseshoe's casino is also nicer than Harrah's, and as was previously mentioned, has the Roadhouse and Gold Strike right next door. My personal opinion is to stay at Horseshoe if you want a CET property. If you don't care about staying at a CET property, go for the Gold Strike - it's rooms are in much better shape than any of the three CET Tunica properties, and Gold Strike is affiliated with MGM.
If you decide to stay at Harrah's, try to get the casino hotel 'tower', otherwise you have to ride a shuttle to get to the casino.

The Horseshoe buffet is better than most, or used to be. I always liked the Horseshoe better than any of the others, but haven't been there in a while. Sorry to hear that they've let the rooms go down.
AS a matter of fact, my DH and I just returned (yesterday) from Tunica. We stayed at the Horseshoe and I HIGHLY recommend it. The rooms are updated, well appointed, and oh-so-comfortable plush mattresses. Loved this hotel. Casino wise though, we walked next door to Roadhouse and gave them all our action as we preferred the vibe/decor/music/table games/ and machines. Tuesday was the best: $3 craps, $.50 roulette ($3 minimum), and plenty of FP JOB at $.25. You'll have a great time if your only MO is gamble, gamble, and then gamble some more...nothing much else to do 'round there. We did enjoy the Horseshoe buffet one night - just ok, and ate at the Roadhouse Cafe the second night (excellent). After 2 nights we were broke and ready to go. Have fun!
The Horseshoe has the best room but the Roadhouse has the best VP.
Roadhouse rooms are a little dated, but really very nice. The casino is a little funky, their attempt to turn the space into the "roadhouse" theme doesn't really work all that well. However, they do have some of the best VP pay tables that Harrah's offers. We try to do most of our Diamond play there.

The Horseshoe buffet next door is good and convenient. The burger place in Horseshoe is also quite good. Our favorite buffet is Paula Dean's at the Harrah's property.
