Valet parking (or, rather, not) at CET Vegas properties

So what is going on at the CET properties in Vegas with their valet parking?

Husband and I were in town all week. Went to Paris one night for the buffet, tried to valet and the only lane open was for Diamond/Seven Stars. No big deal, since the buffet is closer to the parking garage, anyway.

But then my husband was trying to hustle to Caesars to play in a poker tournament that night and went to valet the car there.

Same deal. No valet unless you're D/SS so he had to schlep from one of the mega-garages to the poker room.

Two days later, I intended to spend some money/time at Planet Hollywood - and we all know what a nightmare that parking garage is -- and when I got to the underground, they had the entire valet area roped off and a valet dude was stopping people and asking to see a D or SS card (or a room key), otherwise you were out of luck.

So I went to MGM Grand and gave them my bankroll for the night instead. And yes, used the valet.

Has anyone heard what the problem is? Did they fire a bunch of valets? Is it some sort of incentive scam to make you want to earn D status to take advantage of what every other casino offers as a basic perk?

Not to sound like a lazy-ass - I actually do plenty of walking while in Vegas - but I've got a foot issue at the moment so not walking the 17 miles from Miracle Mile to Planet Ho would be preferred!

Also, I would chalk it up to being a holiday week (though you would think valets would relish bigger crowds since it means more tips), but I also visited in early December and Planet Ho and Paris pulled the same crap on a random Tuesday afternoon.

Any insights?
No insights but if you have a handicapped sticker (placard) I think they have to take you. That is the law in many states just not sure of NV.

I use valet ,Caesars is ALWAYS packed and so is Paris. I usually wait over 1/2 an hour or more for my car at those locations. My favorite is Harrahs valet always quick and efficient.
Valet could have been full. This sometimes happens at my local Harrahs.
Nothing that an up front tip won't resolve.

A.K.A. shakedown. As Mr. Mush indicated, a tip up front can cure the problem.

Just so you don't think that MGM is any better, I find them to do this very often. Not an issue since we're generally staying there when we visit and have a hoobie doobie card as a back up.

It's easy to get wound up about this as I tend to do when I'm in Vegas. If you want to feel better, come to Chicago in 20 degree weather and pay for the privilege of valet parking at a mall based restaurant or toting your butt across a long, wind whipped parking lot. A $5 spot coming and going seems like such a small price to pay when in Vegas.

I kind of agree that this seems to be becoming a trend in Vegas, and possibly alarming now that I think about it. We are Diamond and unless I am mistaken upon arrival with all 9 or so of our Vegas trips last year the valet situation has been pretty terrible. If we had not had the Diamond card I'm pretty sure we would have been out of luck at all of our stays with the exception of Bally's. I find the Paris valet situation worse than the others though.
I used to be a valet snob, but gave that up when we stayed at Paris last June. We never got rejected by the valet, we just happened to try it out (self-park) and found that it wasn't much of a hassle as we thought it would be. Guess I am glad we didn't have to find out the hard way!
I totally understand, though, that most of us do our fair share of walking, and it would be nice to just get out of the car and be right at the casino. Especially after a few days and a few blisters on the feet!

We stayed at Paris between Christmas and NY's. Valet parking at Paris was a ZOO! Hubby by passed valet parking for the first time ever. I can add that it was also bad at the Mirage.
This issue with being unable to valet park is another reason not to stay and/or play on the strip for me.
Wasn't this the week of CES? If so, the resorts are packed and valet fills up quickly.
