What happened to TV check out

After many years of using TV check out everywhere all of a sudden it started to fail to work at least 90% of the time everywhere we stay in the country. Can not be a single hotel glitch. Why have so many hotels left the option on the TV's but give me an error msg when ever I try to use it?

BTW no one at the check out counters have a clue.

Haven't noticed that.
I only stay at AC or Vegas-- if I can't check out by TV, I speaker phone to the front desk and carry on last minute packing in the room until someone picks up.
Never ever go to reception

Worked for us at the Trop. a few weeks ago, didn't work at the Cosmo.

were you by chance checking out very very early in the AM? I often take an early flight out and have found that the TV check out doesn't work before about 6 or 7 in the morning

I'm with Keith -- I've maybe had a 25% success rate with TV checkouts at an assortment of hotels.

Just stayed at Flamingo Feb 16 thru 20; used the video checkout at 11am with no problems. However, it was a comped room and I had no room charges, so that may have made it easier to do this.

I'm around 9/10 on tv checkouts this year. Only failure was at the Rio, but was able to do it by phone.

There have been a few times that our account was not available on the TV but I'm thinking this happened mostly on either a busy weekend or during a special event. (NYE) When the account is available - it makes the whole process just too easy. I love it!

We do 20-30 hotels a year. Have for many years, and we use tv checkout maybe 10% of the time. Front desk less than 5%. Rest of time, we just leave.
