What is the deal with Bally's?

I am thinking about booking it for a couple of nights. I love the location and everybody raves about the oversized remodeled rooms.

Why did they close all their restaurants a few months back and replace them with nothing?

The consensus of the walk-throughs I have seen on YouTube is that the newly renovated standard oversized rooms there are the best budget rooms on the strip right now. Why spend money to renovate the rooms and leave the rest of the property to rot?

I walked through the lobby, casino and their nearly vacant mall/food court back in June to get to Ellis Island and the whole place looked dumpy and depressing. On my way back, I stopped to use the restroom near the food court and it was the most disgusting restroom I have ever seen in Vegas and that is saying a lot.  It looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks after heavy use. I just don't get what is going on with the property.

Probably the stupidity of CZR, both the previous CZR owners as well as the newish owners.  Since they are hellbent on slashing costs, they don't see what damage is being done to the overall property by neglecting everything but the rooms.  I walked through the Shoppes at Bally's last month, and it's sad.  Shops have gone out as well as restaurants.  20+ years ago, there were not only businesses down there, but also slots.  That area was thriving as a walkway to the free tram to MGM.  Now, it's reduced to nothing.

Flamingo, Harrah's, Ballys....they've all gone the way of Tropicana.   No longer hot spots even with their nice location.

Ballys used to have the good steak house, Sterling Brunch, and a host of good shows - all of which drew in crowds.   Now its just the place people on a tight budget book - most of whom spend their time at other properties nearby.  I cant think of anything going on at Bally's that would make it a destination.   I think thats their problem

Do they even have a sit-down restaurant on site anymore?  I think all they have is a fast food court.

Sure would miss Burger Brasserie if it is gone.  In the walkway between Paris and Ballys.  Sad to hear of these iconic properties in demise.

Based on my stay in June, the Flamingo is in great shape. My newly remodeled Flamingo room was very luxurious.  The rest of the property was in better shape than I have ever seen it.  Baby thought I was a high roller based upon how nice of a room I had.

Harrah's rooms are all new too and I think they just added new dining options.  Bally's is the odd duck of the bunch.

Well now we know. It is being converted into a Horseshoe. Ceasers plans to begin renovations right away and they hope to have them finished by the end of the year. They are going to host the World Series of Poker there.
