What is the nicest room you have actually PAID for?

Please tell where it was and the approximate nightly rate. I am planning for a wedding trip and am expecting to go up to $1500 for a week.
So catz..... If someone had a nice room comped, you don't want to know about it? And just look up the price after they tell you about the room???
Prices are so variable in Vegas. Sorry but if the room is comped it really becomes another question. Like....would you pay for it if that was the only option available?

What the hell though. Go ahead champ
I paid a portion of the cost of a room at the Four Seasons, which is the top 8 (?) floors of Mandalay Bay. Separate entrance, separate elevator, exquisite treatment by staff. I don't recall the exact price, but maybe $185 or so? It was for a medical meeting, so the rate may have included a discount. My organization paid only a lesser amount, I chose to pay the rest just for the hell of it.

Wynn has very nice rooms. I paid for one Saturday night once. I'd guess it was $130 or so plus Resort Fee, which may have been a discounted rate since it came with an offer of two free nights.

Green Valley Ranch would be another choice, as it is a lovely hotel and away from the craziness of the Strip and Downtown. More romantic, IMO. I don't know the cost.

Executive Suite at Harrah's was probably the best room in Vegas, believe it or not, but again, we didn't pay for it. Got it by a fluke.

Bellagio, regular rooms are nothing special, but the suites are nice and if you get one that looks out on the Fountains that is a plus. Don't know the cost. Even the regular room over the Fountains would be nice and might fit your budget.

Corner Suite at Aria with a panoramic view of the strip. Each night I took a long hot bath in the jacuzzi tub and watched the twinkling lights of the strip. I had a good rate to start then paid $75 per night for the upgrade.
Best room I have paid for was just the regular room at Mandalay Bay. Still very nice. Scored a free weekend night via MyVegas and tacked on two more for $59 thru one of their December deals. All in after fees came in under $200.

The kind of thing I am hoping/expecting/searching for is one of the 700-1100 foot suites at Luxor/NYNY/MGM/Monte Carlo. Want it large enough to be able to host cocktail parties and the like. Yes, all MGM/Mirage properties so can take advantage of those extra options
Have you considered the Terrace Suites at Cosmopolitan?

Ah, this makes it a different question...you need a suite, not just a room.

Beware that what a hotel may call a suite might turn out to be just a bigger room, and possibly not that much bigger. You want a true suite, multiple rooms which will accommodate the parties, etc., and that is what you need to ask for when you call around about pricing.

Or, ask if they have "hospitality suites". You would book your own room next to the hospitality suite, ideally connecting. The HS should have adequate seating space/sofas, etc., a wet bar/refrigerator, etc. That is what we had for our class reunion...not in Vegas, though. The class paid for the hospitality suite which was used during the day for gatherings, snacks, etc., prior to the big events in the evening, while the head coordinator of everything paid for a connecting room next door so she could oversee things and not have to drive home between event days. Just be up front what you need, but be sure your idea and theirs of a "suite" are the same.
I fell ass-backwards into the penthouse at the Mirage once for $150/night. This was in 2009 during the heart of the recession ...in December. I booked a standard suite at the Mirage for $150 which was a great deal in of itself. When I arrived to checkin the previous occupants of my suite did not check out yet. The front desk clerk gave me the friggin penthouse ! I didn't even ask or complain or offer the $20 trick. She just flat out gave it to me. Holy cow, that was amazing. It was as big as my house. Normally its not available for booking. They just save it for whales. I'm no whale =)
