Which hotel?

We have comp nights at Harrahs, Rio, Bally's, and IP for our trip in March. We've never stayed at any of them and would like to get any input on any or all, both pros and cons.
of the 4, I would either do Bally's for location, or Rio for a bigger room. Of course part of the Bally's choice depends on what room type you have comped. If you have North Tower comped, definitely take Bally's. I had an offer a year or so ago that included a $300 macy's gift card, but I couldn't stay at my usual Caesars on this offer. Had to choose between Rio, Harrah's, Bally's and IP. Chose Rio, probably should have done Bally's instead.
Personally, I would choose Harrahs... but mainly because Harrahs and Imperial Palace are my favorite two places to gamble on the strip.

We were leaning toward Bally's. They've given us a South Tower room or a North Tower Pet Stay but not just the regular North Tower room. Seems odd. I wonder if it would be a problem to book the North Tower Pet Stay and just not have a pet with you?

I've always liked Harr. mostly because of the casino, but have a host whose been
giving me an Exec. suite at Harr. lately, and those rooms are hard to beat.

Also because, what happened at Ballys, last trip.........I'm alittle more leery now.......

I had a Diam room at Ballys N. Tower.

Friend had Non-diam room at Ballys N. Tower.

She found a bedbug in her room.........walking on the pillow next to her. Security checked and Yes, thats what it was. Most hotels, even the high end ones, have had reports of bedbugs.......but this is the first time I've had experience with it.

I was moving out of Ballys that day, so had Diam. check in move her to MY room, because I knew MY room had No bedbugs. (Trust me, I checked it thouroughly.)

Just a thought.

Also, I wouldn't book a Pet Room without a pet.
I much prefer Bally's. Great location and a very friendly staff. Last trip (Dec 10- 15) I had a South Tower room comped for 4 nights and folded a $20 for at registration. Ended up with a great strip front room with a COFFEE MAKER!!!

I hate Harrahs because the walkway is so crowded and you have to weave through "the pit of hell" to head south on the strip.

Bally's also affords you easy access to the monorail as well as Caesars and the MGM properties
We've stayed at all four at various times. We tend to put location before room amenities. Since we are lowly Platinum, we spend more time NOT in the room, but do appreciate a nice view. Would say a con for the Rio is if you want to go anywhere other than there and Gold Coast/Palms, you have to shuttle/cab/bus or rent a car. We do like Buzios restaurant and Voodoo and always stop by the Godard Art Gallery in the Rio. We like Ballys because we usually go to the Fontana at least once for drinks and watching the fountains at Bellagio. Ballys also has a fairly new bar near the steakhouse for great happy hours snacks and drinks. (OK any hour can be happy hour when you are thirsty) Harrahs is good location although I'm not a carnival court person. IP elevators can be slow and crowded, although we did decide to stay there for our January trip partly because I like the staff in their poker room.
We have only stayed at Bally's (several times) of the four you mentioned. Our room was more than adequate, clean, and serviced quickly.

I would not want to stay at Rio because it is off strip and I don't particularly care for the casino itself. I would be willing to give Harrah's a try. IP is definitely a no.

It's all personal perference.

Just stayed at IP for 9 nights in December. Had a strip view on the 10th floor, "Deluxe" room. Not much "Deluxe" about it, but it was clean, no bed bugs and I love the balcony looking out onto the strip. As long as you don't mind the club playing music until the wee hours of the morning, it's hard to beat IMO. Of course, I'm in the minority I'm sure ..
I have stayed at IP and Bally's ...IP is just ok...I have stayed there 3 times in 11 years (twice in my first year and once b/c I was offered a 1 br/Luv tub suite)...I have got views of the moutains with a slight view of the strip...I could see that MANY of the rooms have depressing views of other rooms. A little known secret to most is that there is another bank of elevators right behind the main bank...I never had to wait for a elevator and noone even out of curiosity followed me when I went behind the elevators (that is how I found out)...

Ballys was just ok...had a room in the North tower..might of been larger, but I could tell the south tower might of had better views in some of their rooms..was alright, casino was BORING!!!!

Will be staying at Harrahs in March to try their place..

The Rio is to far off the strip for me to stay at..I like to hop casinos and don't want to take the shuttle or pay for a Taxi...the casino was TIGHT...might of been just our luck, but nada from any of their slots.

I really don't know about staying in a Pet stay room...a dumb idea to have them...
