Which one would you choose - and why...

I have a choice of a 3 day room comp at the Mandalay Bay or the Mirage. Any suggestions as to which would be preferable? Thanks.

I would pick Mirage. Location, Location, Location

Thank you.

I haven't stayed at the Mandalay Bay, but I have stayed at the Mirage. For a strip hotel, I really liked it. That's where I would stay on a comp. Its location is much better. ...and I've had some pretty good luck there!

We stayed at Mandalay Bay last May with my comped rooms for 3 nights and I loved the casino, but I was not fond of the location.  We walked ~21,000 steps per day or more.   I loved the pool and we used our MyVegas coupons for discounted food.   The last 3 days were at Harrah's, supposedly comped but not, and I loved the location, just not the casino!   I like MGM casinos so much better than CET casinos.   We used our LVA coupons while at Harrahs.  And still walked ~18,000 steps per day!!

Our trip in September, we are using our 3 days at Mirage.   The CET has sent me NO offers despite being Diamond status.   I think I got blackballed after my outburst at Harrahs!!!

I think your decision should be based on what you have planned.   If you are doing a lot of shows/restaurants etc. at the MB end, then it would be best to stay there.   If you are doing more shows/restaurants etc at the Mirage end, then stay at Mirage.

Given Mirage or Mandalay with no additional information, I would agree with the herd here that Mirage is pretty much a no-brainer?

But if there are things you plan to do or like at the Mandalay, then there could be some tradeoffs.

Both are great properties, with the pool at Mandalay being superior (but the Mirage pool is no slouch).  Look at what restaurants or amenities are important to you, and weigh that into your decision, too.  As others have said, Mandalay is quite far from most other casinos.

MGM Resorts won't be getting any of my business since they filed their lawsuit.  I would throw their 3 day comp back in their face!
