Winterfest?

I am booked at the Mirage Dec 11th-14th and needed an extra room so I took a Harrah's offer for Winterfest the same nights. It appears to be a tournament (slots?) and I can't find any info on it. Does anyone have any details and can my wife and her buddy buy into the tournament?
You should be able to Buy IN, but I do not know why you would want to. The odds of winning anything are long IMO and you would be better off just playing regular slots with the money. Only good thing is that they usually have free soft drinks, etc.

The question was not if I can buy in, I apparently am already in though I can't find info. My wife and her buddy want to buy in for fun. My wife is a penny slot player and her buddy is bingo, neither get invited to slot tournaments.
Unlike the invitationals, Winterfest and Summerfest used to be open to anyone and everyone, not tied to previous high play.
It has been a long time though, so might be different now.
They used to roam the casino giving away entry forms.
They wanted lots of people.
Lots of one time sessions throughout the day.
High scorers get to do another session, and so on.
I bet your wife and friend can get in.

For Summerfest I got the highest score in both my rounds. If the scores were combined?
I probably would have won the whole darn thing.
Instead the scores are Seperate.......so, ended up with only $75 (X 2) in Freeplay.
Kind of a letdown from 15k.

Its fine to take up the offers for Summerfest or winterfest, WHEN YOU NEED THE ROOM.
But as far as a tourney goes?
If you're there...........fine.........knock yourself out. But don't need to go out of your way.
You could always enter your wife or friend as Your Alternate, and just have them do the tourney.

Thanks Everyone,

Having my wife bring a friend is a big relief, I don't feel guilty during long gambling sessions or extended time at a sports book and I don't have to be the good husband and go shopping. My wife's Vegas friend is good company but likes staying at Sam's Town and I have to be the shuttle driver. She is happy with Harrah's if I provide the room. Any tournaments or extras is just icing.
Does anyone have the dates and types of tournaments for Winterfest? I haven't seen any specifics yet.
Hey Rocky, there is a free shuttle bus that goes from Harrah's to Sam's Town. So you don't have to be a shuttle driver unless you want to. I agree with Calif.Loves.Vegas about the Winterfest Tourny, it really is a waste of time and you only get free play these days. Your wife and friend may enjoy entering if they have never done it before.
Orchid,

That's great in theory however Phyllis, wife's buddy, misses every shuttle in each direction, especially after I give her and my wife Sam's Town free drink coupons. Then as I lay down for an afternoon nap at the Mirage they call me to "run by" ST and pick them up. A guy or one of my kids would have to wait for the next shuttle but of course not my wife and Phyllis.

Do you know how long it takes to walk from a Mirage room to the parking deck, drive to ST, back to Harrah's to drop off Phyllis, drive to Mirage deck then walk back to my room? That why I don't like to rent a car when I'm in town with a group.
I contacted CET to get the answer to my question since nobody replied here.
