I thought I would update this tread with the final result. . . .
On 2/16 I wired $5000 from my bank to Caesars Palace. We left for Cancun on 2/17 for four days before going to Vegas on 2/21. After checking into our room at CP, I went to the cashier's cage to get some money from my wire transfer. Presented my ID and Total Rewards card and presto - two signatures and ten minutes later I had $1500 in my hands.
After a not so lucky evening, I went back the next morning and got $1500 more, again ten minutes and two signatures. On the morning of our departure, I withdrew the final $2000 from the cage.
The process worked perfectly and I will probably do this every trip going forward.
