Would I be charged for my comped room if

I signed up for an offer, but couldn't stay overnight. Just picked up my free play or gas card, then had a family emergency & had to leave for home.

I will be playing at the CET property that day, just can't stay overnight due to work.
If this were me, I'd check out by phone the next morning. Ooops, sorry, was in a rush to leave and forgot to do video check out.
Great idea, that would work.
Thank you.
My friend never checks out of her comped room and it has never been an issue. It makes me nervous but she has never checked out just left.

Just mess up the bed a little and leave the key in the room and go.

I would hesitate to do this for two reasons: 1. Why risk a late check-out charge. 2. As a courtesy to someone checking in that day, I would want to do my part to make sure room is ready when they arrive. I would call as early as possible to release the room, 5:30 or 6 a.m., whenever I awake. We've all been there at 1 pm or so and crossed our fingers that a room is ready.

Happened to me a few years ago at the Rio. Forgot to checkout of a comped room when I left on a very early flight and got a bill for an extra couple of nights. Successfully argued it off. We always just drop the key in a box (or tell friends to do so when they are using one of our comps).
