There still is social distancing:
People who have the common sense not to crowd into a metal cylinder with hundreds of other people for several hours: on the ground.
People who have cottage cheese for brains: up in the friendly skies.
As with other numbnuts groups, it's not only they who will get sick. And the airlines are ENCOURAGING this behavior. Assholes enabling idiots.
Most flights require about 80% occupancy (at least) in order to make money. Making the middle seat unavailable guarantees a money losing flight.
So either the airlines need to be compensated for leaving the middle seat open or they have to fill it....or they will go bankrupt.

One solution would be to require that everyone be tested 24 hours prior to departure and those who test positive be denied boarding. You can get the results back within that time frame now.
