Airport Fees

Is it cheaper to not pick up a rental car from the airport rental lots I can rent a car and have it delivered to my hotel. We don't really need a car the first night because we aren't arriving until 9:30 at night, which is really 12:30 our time.
You can try, but usually cheaper to have the car from the get-go. Try different days & times.
Plus if you add in cost of Taxi first night..........just do some finagling........you'll see.
I mostly rent from Hertz, but I've rented from them all (except Thrifty and Fox). As a rule of thumb, the cheapest rates come when I rent off-airport. I can usually do one-ways in town for no increase in rate (though sometimes that means I can't use a coupon).

To find the absolute lowest rate that includes off-airport locations can be a lot of work.
I ended up using the Advantage rental on the B Connectedonline website. I got an Impala for 5 days for $109.00. We will be picking up and dropping it off at the airport.

I believe there is an addded tax to airport rentals - I think its called "Passenger Facility Tax" or something. I've never rented anywhere other than the airport so I dont know if that same tax gets added to outside locations or if it is specific to the airport.
At the airport, we pay an airport concession fee of about 10.5% of the rental rate, and a daily $3.75 customer facility charge.

Off airport, we avoid those two.
