Airport Limo Service

Which airport limo service would you recommend to use to get to the strip?
Any Limo company at the airport will give you good service. Prices are approximately the same. The thing that you should remember when getting a limo is that you are paying for an hour minimum (as opposed to a taxi). The driver will be glad to get you to your location as quickly as possible, but if you would like to use the hour (stop at a convenience store, drive the strip, go to the "Welcome To Las Vegas" sign for a photo, etc.) before being dropped off at your hotel, feel free to ask. There are different prices for different types. A Sedan will hold four, a Stretch Limo will hold 6 and a Super Stretch will hold 8.

P.S. - Get the full price of the Limo before agreeing. Some Limo companies post the entire fare while others post the base rate. The difference is that the entire fare includes a $3 fuel surcharge (per hour) and a $5 airport fee. Some companies will post their fares without these charges so that it looks cheaper, but then tell will you about them when it is time to collect.

Larry,

Thanks for the information.
Try Presidential. Use the web site. Great package prices. Have always had excellent service. See the LVA review.

I was wondering if Larry the limo guy could offer his thoughts about an appropriate limo tip from the airport for two people. In the past, I've offered $10 each way for a tip. Is this acceptable, or am I being viewed as a cheapskate? Thanks.
As a limo driver, I would never suggest a tip amount. A number of guests have asked me and I always tell them that it is up to them. I don't feel that a person in the service industry should dictate or suggest a gratuity. Guest's circumstances vary tremendously. A tip is a gratuity for exceptional service and should be viewed as such. Base it on how prompt, courteous and efficient the driver was. Was the vehicle stocked with amenities (Ice, water, soda)? These are usually purchased at the driver's expense. Did the driver ask you if there was anywhere you wanted to stop before dropping you off at the hotel (convenience store, Las Vegas Sign, etc). Did the driver ask you if you wanted to drive down the strip to your hotel or take the fastest route? A good driver will try to make the Limo experience as memorable as possible.

In my personal opinion, every person in the service industry should be doing everything they can to make the Las Vegas experience as memorable as possible for their guests no mater what they thing the gratuity should be. As you don't know what the financial situation of the guest is (they may have lost everything as you return them to the airport) no guest should be considered a cheapskate.

Monkey-

Larry is too professional to Say...........but weve always tipped $20 for 1 or 2 people.
I think $10 for 2 people would be considered alittle Low............
Thanks for the replies. Now I know what to look for and how to tip accordingly. Unfortunately, in the two times I've used them, I didn't get any of the personal service that Larry mentioned. The second time (2 years apart) the guy even told me that I was the last pick up of the night and I had to drink my free Champagne from a plastic dixie cup because he put the glasses away!

Neither time did they offer to take me to the strip or anywhere else, it was always "Where to?" and straight there. The first time the guy pulled my wife's suitcase for her and the second time the guy walked ahead while we pulled the bags.

Sounds like I overpaid at $10....at least the second time.
I will be coming to Vegas the end of March and I really want Larry as my limo driver. This will be the first time that I will be using Presidential. I have had some very bad rides with other companies.
rhazet68 - While Presidential is a sister company (part of Bell Trans) I drive in the Bell Trans Limo division so you wouldn't get me, but the Presidential drivers are outstanding and you should have a good experience.
