Airport Taxi Cab Fares - Signs at Mcarren

I recall a few years back that both airport terminals had signage posted in cab loading area advise customers on fare estimates.

And if I recall, those signs are no longer around. Does anyone know what happened?

Maybe they are embarrassed about the fares?In all seriousness, cab fares are getting ridiculous.I don't use cabs very often, but on my last trip earlier this month I had car trouble.I took a cab from Firestone on Sahara and Nellis back to the Fremont and it was over$25 each way before tip.Pretty high for a fairly short trip.

I used cabs for years from McCarran. Never saw any signs with price estimates.

You may be thinking of the casino shuttle kiosks which have prices posted. Those have one rate for Strip, one for Downtown, maybe other locales. That's the positive thing about the shuttles, one price regardless of destination, traffic conditions, how long it takes to get you there.

Thanks for the feedback, but I am 110% certain that these signs were present. Hell, I remember seeing them but I think it was about 3 years ago. I know that the cabbies protested the signs and must have been able to have them removed. Geez, I wonder why? I am like the majority of LVA folk, I either drive or use Uber as my frustrations with long hauling has been elevated over the last few years. I loved reading the stat which indicated sales revenue of Las Vegas taxis has dropped drastically since the start of Uber / Lyft. They did it to themselves.

Yeah, I remember seeing those signs at the airport as well. I think I'd rather take the bus than a taxi. I always hated starting off the trip by saying "take surface streets" or "no tunnel".
