Using the costco id #7015309 and coupon code AD2359FDF, I just reserved a mid-size SUV for a week for a total price of $198! Not as good as some of the other prices the rest of you are getting but better than I've found so far. I have time to get a better rate though-our trip isn't until mid April. The Mid size SUV was cheaper than a compact car-weird! Since hubby is going to have golf clubs along w/ our other luggage and we might be driving 2 other people around I figured it was worth it to get the bigger car, even though I'm not a fan of driving big cars...

I contacted Alamo and question about a code for 3/6/12---3/13/12 and they sent me out AD2359FDF and I enter it and it comes up connot use code. It refuses to accept it. The email I received back from Alamo had three differtent offers but the one I wanted states good on 5 day rental Saturday night stay we are renting for 7 days. Email states this is good until 11-30--12 this would make it easy to rent for the rest of the year. The cureent coupon is only good until 3/4/12 that is on website for insider Members. I really think alamo website leaves a lot to desire. IMOO.

Perhaps too many other people are renting at that time and using that coupon code. I think I've read where they put a cap on how much it can be used during a time period.

Try using AD2359FDF on or after February 1, as it may be resurrected then. Also use the ID 7015309 as it adds a Costco discount.

5 day rental means 5 days or more. Minimum 5 day. In car rental land, 5 days means weekly.

Also, rates are usually cheaper on weekends, and may vary by the half-hour difference in pick up/drop off time.

The AD2359FDF code is not working as of today. I tried and then called they said that it was a American Airline code and the max number of rentals for the week I wanted 3/6---3/13 was met. The problem we have is the current $30 off dates run up to 3/4/12 and we need it to go to 3/6---3/13. Hate and will not rent from Alamo without at least a $30 off for weekly rental. I called to check and the male that I was talking to quoted me $338.00 for the week but then said "wait a minute if you rent right now off of me I can offer you a one time 10% discount." I replied that's ok I will wait. What really hurts is we just got back and had a full size for $122.45 for the week 1/17/12----1/24/12. Hard to even consider $338.00. Tried Sam's Club they have stopped rental car discounts and other travel discounts at our local store (may be chain wide.) we do not have a Costco's close 55 miles away. At this time will wait and see.

Check the fine print--they may have a list of black out days and one or more of your days falls within them.
