allegiant air

Has anyone noticed the fare increases flying out of peoria ? I travel at least 3 to 4 times a year to vegas and the rates are normally running at a reasonable cost. Suddenly they seem to be getting out of hand and at some of these prices I may only go out a couple of times annually. Any thoughts as to what is going on as they seem to be pricing themselves out of the market. I will probably start looking for deals out of St louis with other airlines as I live in Springfield Illinois.

Hey mario---yep, noticed it too. Seems to have been coincident with the opening of the Moline flights and the reductions in flights out of Peoria. Hate to think of returning to St. Louis with all the hassle of the larger airports---but these prices put St. Louis back into play financially I think.
There fares have been very high for the last 6 months from the midwest. whats worse is when there going to run BOGO with hotel purchase they raise the price of the airfare.
i fly PIA-LAS 2-5 times/yr. my next trip in 21 days i got for $80 out and $129 back and i have seen there r fewer $99 fares and most r $129 each way.

I fly them out of Sioux Falls I got 99 one way 114 the other looked last night it is 184 and 159 now. I hate to have to go to Minneapolis but....
Two words....Spring Break. They always get high this time of year. But I do agree they have been working there way up there for a while now.
As most of us realize allegiant stopped going to mid america in the east st louis area a while back, I was wishing that they would return giving us both peoria and mid america as options. Today someone informed me they would soon begin flying out of St louis , Mo ? Has anyone else heard this?
I don't understand why they cut back the number of Peoria flights. The planes were always full all the times I flew with them.
Maybe not at the prices they wanted to fill the planes. Less flights=higher prices.
Spring break isn't why Allegiant prices are up. It's all about higher fuel costs.
Their planes, which they buy used at much cheaper costs, are reall gas-guzzlers.
We're seeing the same thing here in Rockford, IL. IT's like overnite, fares went from being $99 to $154 or $129 to $174.
There are no bargains to found anymore. And, to think it wasn't too long ago one could occasionally snare a $39 fare on Allegiant.
I'm back to checking SWA prices at Milwaukee and Chicago instead of nearby Rockford.
