allegiant air price hike

I was going to make reservations for this summer June or July vegas trip when I noticed a big price hike out of peoria, which started this month. Does anyone know whats going on as I never paid these types of costs with usual add on fees they charge for assigned seats and priority boarding. Is this the case elsewhere with them ?

Do not purchase airfare this early. I usually wait until 45 days or less, as airlines begin adjusting fares, based on flt loads. Allegiant is notorious for jacking prices up early in the game and then lowering them.

Yes, for several reasons buying airfare many months in advance is almost always a bad idea, not the least of which is that prices are usually higher.

Bing's price predictor says to wait to buy a June ticket from Peoria, they're 79% certain the fare will drop by more than $50.

Same situation from Appleton, Wisconsin. I looked during the Christmas - New Years week and their prices were much higher than they are now. Sometimes an advertised "Big Sale" is a rip off.
