Allegiant considering flex-fuel tickets

According to this mornings LVRJ Allegiant is considering giving customers a choice of normal tickets or a ticket that would go up in price (to a maximum) if fuel goes up or refund if fuel goes down. You can gamble before getting to Vegas.

Article pointed out that Allegiant has 2 problems. (1) Fleet of MD80's with 40 year old technology (gas guzzlers). (2) Recreational customer base who buy tickets far in advance.

Would you take the bet?
Nope. I don't see gas going down anytime soon.
i have been flying Allegiant for years and i usually buy my ticket as far in advance as i can and i live with the price fluctuations. i usually have my hotels booked way in advance of Allegiant even offering fares.
