Hi Group,
I found out on the news in Los Angeles that Mega Bus is another fairly inexpensive way to go from L.A. to Las Vegas.
It leaves from Union Station (I think 4 times per day) in Downtown Los Angeles and arrives at the RTC's South Transportation Center which is by the South end of McCarran Airport. From there you'd have to take an RTC bus or other forms of transportation to get you to your final destination.
Fare can be as low as $1 Each Way (For First Time Users from what I'm understanding) Plus a 50 Cent Service Charge (each way) and otherwise fares can supposedly average about $8 Each Way. Very last minute fare between L.A. and LV can be $15 One Way.
These fares differ based on how close in time to the actual bus leaving that you pay for your ticket. If you can go a month out or more, then the fare can be really inexpensive. But tickets are non refundable for I think any reason (including if you get rejected due to exceeding luggage restrictions).
Check out their website (which is at: https://www.megabus.com for Luggage Restrictions and other information (including that they go to other locations as well -- such as to the San Francisco area).
Also, there is the Greyhound Bus and they have a Casino Special whose prices supposedly can differ depending on how much in advance you purchase your ticket.
Last minute fare on the Casino Special (which you need to ask for) may be $60 One Way and $65 Round Trip.
That terminal (at least the main terminal) is in Downtown Los Angeles as well, but the Greyhound Station in Las Vegas is at I think a better location (than Mega Bus) which is right next to Plaza Hotel and Casino on Main Street in Downtown Las Vegas. That makes it a lot easier for those people who are staying Downtown.
Greyhound's website is (I think): https://www.greyhound.com or you can call (I think) 1-800-231-2222.
