Anyone else get a notice of the Vegas rental class action lawsuit ?

Just received a notice in that names Hertz, Enterprise, and Vanguard Car Rental as defendants in this suits.
Looks like they settled out of court for charge the "concession recovery fees" that they tacked on.

The settlement states:
ALL PERSONS WHO RENTED CARS FROM ALAMO RENT A CAR AT THE LAS VEGAS OR RENO AIRPORTS DURING THE PERIOD FROM JUNE 3, 2007 THROUGH SEPT. 30, 2009 AND WERE CHARGED CONCESSION RECOVERY FEES BY ALAMO RENT A CAR.

Since I used Alamo during that time I received notice. Thought is was pretty interesting. The lawyers received 1.44 million and appear to be the big winners here. I got a $10 coupon.

I received one as well. I also rented quite a few times during that time period from them. Is the refund $10 per rental or $10 total regardless how many times you used them?
Nevermind. I just read its $20 max per rental COMPANY. Thanks for providing the link.
I got it too.

Yep. I got Hertz only. The lawyers get over 1.4 million dollars and we get a $10/$20 certificate. Fortunately the certificate can be combined with other coupons. However, Hertz is consistantly the highest price of all Las Vegas rentals, even after coupons.

Absoultely absurd. I saw that in the notice, too. The four people that they filed the claim on behalf of get $5,000 a piece while the lawyers get $1.4 Million. It's sick, really.

...and the thing that's even worse about that is that as customers we'll all pay more for our future rentals now to help offset the $1.4 Million that the lawyers are getting. Only the lawyers win with this one.
class action has always been a mixed blessing. civil rights, big ups. my recovery against my federal employer, several thousand (THANKS, union). But if you compare this outcome to really important ones, this looks, well, demeaning. I think i'll use my coupie soon as possible and move on. Good Luck!
I got that in the mail. It's a joke. What the hell are you going to do with a $10 coupon for rent cars (Hertz) that cost twice as much. I guess if you run out of toilet paper it's better than a corn cob. Talk about frivolous lawsuits.
I always toss or delete any class action settlement items I get in the mail or via e-mail. I didn't have a complaint when I used Hertz, so I'm not taking the $10.
Just like Steve, (eurotraveler), I throw them away.

BTW, I did not receive that one but did get one
about a month or so ago concerning rentals at LAX.

I think it was for Alamo but I'm not sure.

I recall renting from them one time because they had
very low rates compared to all the others.

Hey, these class action suits are very good (for the law firms
doing them).
