We are flying to Las Vegas on SWA first week in May on Southwest. Wondering if anyone has had a flight cancelled/rebooked secondary to the Boeing Max 8 planes being grounded?
I've read everything in the papers, that airlines are cancelling a lot of flights daily, rebooking when possible, no upcharge for the alternate flight, etc. Would like to know of actual experiences.
1. How soon before the day of your flight were you notified?
2. Were you given a choice of alternate flight? Same date or later date? Could you select a preferred flight among those available same date?
I read that the airlines are cancelling/rebooking each week for that week's flights, so there is no benefit to calling the airline to ask about your flight unless that flight is 'this week.' They won't know anything.
Thanks for any information if you have had a flight cancelled or rebooked because of the Max 8 mess. Any flight, any destination, any airline. Apparently is affecting SWA, American, and United. Haven't read anything about Delta.
