April 9th Air Fare.

My wife and I come to Las Vegas in the spring and fall for 10 days and fly Jet Blue from New York (JFK). We leave New York in the A.M. and return early after noon. This year we have a price problem. We are booked for our usual Tuesday flight at 9:55 a.m. for $145 each. Our usual Thursday flight home was shoeing $339 but just jumped to $389 each. They show plenty of seats available. Does any one know some thing about Thursday April 9 to cause this. Thank You.

What do the fares look like on the 8th, or the 10th?

Easter break for schools? I think quite a few schools take the week after Easter off, so they extend their break by having Good Friday(4/3/15) off the week before. I imagine many people returning home from vacation toward the end of that week? Just a guess. Maybe college kids on spring break also?

I guess that indicates a Canadian holiday?

The fare just went down to $295. Jet Blue has a policy that if your fare goes down you can call them and they will hold the savings in your account that you have one year to use on another booking. I called to make sure this policy was still good. They said yes but since last August there is now a $75 fee if the change is made after 14 days after booking. Before there was never a fee.

The fare is now up to $339. Crazy.

The fare went down to $254. yesterday. I booked it. Today it's back to $339. Wild.
