Avis

Hi everyone,

I'm getting ready for my second solo trip in September and Priceline finally accepted my $12/day bid for a week. It came back as Avis which I have never rented from, nor have I been to the new rental facility.

Last trip I used taxis because I wasn't moving around much, but this time I have a couple shows on the strip while I'm still at the Nugget so it will be cheaper for going to the strip a few times.

Arriving on Sunday at 9:00 AM since I'm guessing it probably won't be crowded yet, but does anyone have any previous contact with Avis? Any problems or hints?

I've been reading everyone's posts about the "new" car center but I haven't found anything about Avis in the past year.

Hi Anne, I also used Priceline for a trip in June. No sales pressure from the counter person. I rented an economy class and was assigned a rather new [7000mi] Toyota Venza SUV, a pleasant surprise. As you enter the garage your name is displayed on a sign board. I found Avis easy to deal with.

You say your name was on the sign in the garage - did you have to go to a counter first to check in? I've never been to the new rental car center.
