I haven't been, and I use the Costo discounts often.

The problem will come up not at the counter, but down the line after an accident or similar incident where the rental company finds it helpful to point out to an arbitrator, judge, or jury the renter committed fraud in procuring the rental agreement. Things tend to go downhill quickly when the decision maker thinks you're a liar.

Yes, I believe in some states the death penalty is in order for failure to have a proper coupon or store membership card when renting a car.

Can you supply ONE link to one real life case where the scenario you site has ever occurred?

No, I can't.

Similarly, I can't supply ONE link showing that you're toilet trained. Doesn't mean you're not.

If I was a car rental agency and was involved with a lawsuit against a renter, and the renter's reputation for telling the truth became an issue, I would definitely spend as much time as I could pointing out that the renter lied to get a cheaper rate on the rental, and is therefore probably lying about other stuff in the case too.

Just something to keep in mind when renting a car: when stuff goes bad, it's bad to be the guy who committed fraud.
I have signed up for Fastbreak. What exactly does that mean at Budget. With Alamo I go straight to my car...
In the June 2-15, 2013 issue of Vegas2Go Magazine, I'm seeing an ad that says, go to https://www.budgetlasvegas.com or call 702-736-1212 and use code S255800 for a special offer.

I have no idea what this offer is (and I don't rent cars) or when it may expire, so I don't know whether or not it's good, but I thought that you people should know about it!

Fastbreak takes you to the garage booth where they have your contract waiting...if no line, about 3 minutes.
Ended up rebooking on Monday for a Wednesday departure. Used the prepay option (since it was so close) and the cost was $136 for the 6 days on a full size. Costco codes, did not ask to see the card.
Thanks for the info. Good to know I can go straight to car and booth. Leaving Sunday, to Friday. Got rate down to 128.00 pre-paid..I also used Costco codes.

I know that sucks but you will have the same taxes and fees with any of them. Nevada does not like to tax its residents....but they love to tax the sh@t out of tourists

I take it those who are not Costco members are not booking through the Costco web site.

If DO I rent through the Costco web site, using their codes, can I still go to the Fastbreak desk and then to my car? I am a Costco member and a Fastbreak member.

I do not want to be sent back down to the long lines just because I booked through the Costco web site and not the Budget web site. (The Costco web site is about $10 cheaper.)

A perfectly horrendous experience with Budget in North Carolina already makes me very unhappy with Budget right now. I do not want any hassles with them.

Too bad about Alamo's prices. I will miss Alamo.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

I pretty much use the Costco site, but I take the codes and go direct to the Budget site to book. Its easy to do and you get the codes before you go thru the hassel of entering the costco site with your number and password. Makes it easy for the fastbreak. There is a place to enter your FB code when booking thru Costco.l

True. But according to USAToday, many cities tax guests far worse than Nevada does.

10 cities with the highest total daily tax burden for travelers

Chicago, Ill.: $40.31
New York, NY: $37.98
Boston, Mass.: $34.83
Kansas City, Mo.: $34.58
Seattle, Wash.: $34.43
Minneapolis, Minn.: $34.32
Cleveland, Ohio: $34.22
Indianapolis, Ind.: $34.19
Nashville, Tenn.: $34.13
Houston, Texas: $33.51

That's right, that's Indianapolis right there at Number 8 lol, with Vegas and Reno unrepresented.
