Budget rent a car in Golden Nugget hotel

Hi!

Has anyone ever rented a car from the "Budget Rent A Car" located in the Golden Nugget Hotel? I found a price on the Costco website. The "final total price" was 11 days for $283.00. I read somewhere that Budget added on extra charges when the person returned the car to them. Has anyone experienced this before?

Also, if you've rented from that location before, would you recommend me to rent from there too?

I see your price is $238.00 for 11 days ($21.64 per day) we rented full-size at airport for $122.38 (17.48 er day) total. We stay at the GN all the time but find the airport shuttle a hassel free set up. Join Alamo Insider (better deals) and you go straight to the car and you are on your way. Rarely ever is their waiting time.

I booked a Budget car via Costco from the airport to the Golden Nugget in August. In addition to the great rate, I got the convenience of downtown dropoff. No unexpected charges were added at dropoff. Frankly, that sounds like the sort of story an inexperienced renter would tell.

The only glitch I had was in figuring out where to park the car on return. Follow signs to the south valet area. Driving north, pull into the garage on the left, telling the garage attendant you're a Budget customer returning a car. The attendant will direct you to the southwest corner of the garage, where Budget has dedicated spots. Took me a while to figure it out.

If you're happy with the price, I think you'll have a good experience.

Thank you for your responses. My trip is for mid March 2012 so I have some time to shop around for a better price. Prices seem very high now for the month of March. I'll be renting for about 2 weeks.....

I have always found the rates at the airport to be much lower than the rates at casinos, even factoring in the extra $4 a day. Compare carefully before renting.

Just finished a rental with Budget & in 30 years of renting cars the worst rental experience of my life. In a 5 day rental I had 3 cars not counting the contract for a car that was not on the lot and an attempt at a bait and switch. In addition I was overcharged by more than $100 which has yet to be resolved

When the billing issue is resolved & I have more time I will provide more details

We've rented from Budget at the GN several times & have never had anything added on when we returned the car.
