Bus Fares

Bus fares on the Deuce and Ace are now $5.00 for two hours and $7.00 for 24 hours, despite the LVR cover page which still states $2.50 and a senior discount for a trip. My daughter and I took a cab to the outlet mall which cost $7.50 from downtown at the end of May - cheaper than the bus.

Also one deuce trip from downtown to NYNY that I took on May 24 took at least one and one half hours.
I decided after that I would only take the Ace bus and walk to those bus stops. Tried to call the Las Vegas Review to tell them to update their cover page and left a message but nobody replied.

By "LVR" bkrull7 likely means the Las Vegas Review-Journal newspaper, typically called the "RJ" or "LVRJ".

The express bus on the Strip is no longer called "Ace", it's been known for a couple years now as the "Strip and Downtown Express", or "SDX".

The advice she gives sounds pretty good.

Thanks Chilcoot for your comments. Transportation costs are really rising fast in Las Vegas.
For years they were so affordable - a couple of dollars here or there for buses. Now you have to plan your trips to get the most out of the bus fares.

CAT fares are going up again. Strip fares will change Sept. 30, 2012.
Strip & Downtown Express Service and Deuce on the Strip Service:
Increase the fixed route Strip 24-hour All Access Pass from $7 to $8
Increase the fixed route Strip 2-hour All Access Pass from $5 to $6

The 3 day all access pass price will remain the same $20 and can be ordered online and mailed. Those passes are then activated at a TVM or on the bus.

If anyone out there is handicapped go to the bus station show them ID and your medicare card they will take your picture and give you a photo ID to show driver for a discount I think they charge $5-$10 for this service check with them to find out all details.
