Cab Fare to Downtown

I was longhauled before I realised - $48.00.
Returning to airport he took freeway (when I rent I just go straight up the strip) and I was charged $42.00.

Both these charges seemed excessive - What do you pay? TIA
At current rates, and assuming no waiting charges, it costs $28.00 before tip to drive the 9.5 miles from downtown to the airport along I-15 to Flamingo.

Unless you had 28 minutes of wait time, you were overcharged.
Thanks Chilcoot - that is what I thought.
I don't mind losing it on Megabucks, or buying a homeless guy a meal, but it really starts the trip on a sour note when a cab driver screws me out of $20.00

I'm sorry that happened to you. I had that happen to me once and only once. I was with a group and I told the guy who paid the driver not to tip, because we were long hauled. The driver gave me a dirty look, but I didn't really care.

Tonyrob..... Sorry to hear of your misfortune. I think many of us have experienced this and swore that it would never happen again. Now, the freeway is likely the quickest (yet most expensive) route. I assume your ride from the airport to downtown involved going in a tunnel?

Next time, ask him if he would like the TA (taxi cab authority) to meet you at your destination. They can severely fined for this and he may just say ".... auhh... pay the $28 bucks it should have been".

I suspect this won't happen to you again. Bitten once.... twice shy!
