Cab to Strip

I'm going to have to be a tour guide for a couple of friends of mine next month. We'll be staying at the Golden Nugget and I need to know the route and approximate cost of a cab trip to the mid-Strip area, most likely the Mirage. I'll have a car, but since we'll undoubtably be drinking, I need to take a cab. Any thoughts?

Check the Nevada Taxi Cab Authority Web site (https://taxi.state.nv.us/FaresFees.htm). The Mirage is approximately 4 miles from the Golden Nugget. The most direct route (shortest mileage) would be Main Street to Las Vegas Blvd to the Mirage. Depending on time of day and traffic, I might take a slightly different route using Industrial Road as I try to avoid Las Vegas Blvd at all costs, but as far as most direct route, the way I outlined is it.

If you are the tour guide and they are interested in it, you may want the taxi to go up Carson from the Golden Nugget to Las Vegas Blvd. That way you will pass the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop (the store in "Pawn Stars") and the Little White Wedding Chapel (used the "The Hangover") on your way to the Mirage.

The time of day is going to be right in the 5-6pm range on a weekday. I just want to get to the Mirage and then we'll be walking to Caesar's and Bellagio.

At 5 or 6 PM I would definitely avoid the strip. I would take Main Street to Wyoming, Right on Wyoming to Industrial, Left on Industrial to Mel Torme (right past the Fashion Show Mall, then Mel Torme right into the back of Mirage (by Jet Nightclub which is now 1OAK nightclub which is the North Valet entrance.
