Car Rental Help--Needed

We have always used Dollar or Alamo rental cars. This trip prices are up--Has anyone used Fox, Advantage or Payless? They seem to be running better specials and I need to book something. Ty for your input! Donna

I would also be interested to hear any comments about Advantage as they are running pretty cheap for my November dates. Does anyone know if you can get airline miles with a rental from Advantage?

It takes longer to get thru the line at Fox, Advantage & Payless as they don't have their system set up like Dollar's Express where you can have all of your information saved there and then it is only a matter of showing your DL and CC and then off you go. They slow down the process with all of their pitches for buying their insurance for the car, pre paying for gas etc. Other than those little annoyances up front they aren't that bad if you're hoping to save some $$$ on your rental. I don't think that you can earn any airlines miles with Advantage. I believe it is Fox where you have to catch 2 different shuttles to get to their place, which is not at the rental center with all of the other car rental companies.

you are correct - pricing for cars is really up. especially if you are renting from the hotel.
i am now getting a great price on my rental by using my local shopping warehouse card and using their travel section on line. i got a full week, full size car at alamo for $56.00. not bad!

Yep, prices are sky high lately.
I used Payless last month, and was pleasantly surprised.
It took alittle longer at the Checkin counter, as it was my First time using them......
But the car was good & had no probs. I would use them again when the Price is Right!
