Car Rental rate raised on me.

3 months ago I made a car rental reservation with Advantage Car Rental on their web site. I got a great rate. Yesterday I got a call and an email from Advantage saying there was a glitch in the system and I should not have been given that rate. They want to revise the reservation with a higher rate. I'm in Vegas in 2 weeks. Has anybody ever run into this situation? What are my options? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Do you have a written confirmation/printout of your original reservation? If so, I believe they'd have to honor it. If not, you're probably out of luck.
Advantage is not disputing that mkania was given a low rate. Rather, Advantage admits giving him the low rate, but is saying they won't abide by the deal. Having a written confirmation is neither here nor there in this situation. There's no dispute about the agreed rate.

Contractually, Advantage is obliged to honor the rate. If they agreed to it in error, that's on them.

Unless Advantage changes its position, which it should, your only options are to embarass Advantage publicly, like you're doing here, and to sue. Shame on Advantage.
A Facebook friend just posted the same thing: "Advantage rent a car called me today. They told me when I booked in December there was a "glitch" on their reservation system that was picking up wrong prices that should have been going to priceline. I booked for 5 days in April for a total including tax of 69......they told me their was nothing they could do, and it was going to 82..."

"There's nothing they could do", lol.

It is a human impossibility for us to only collect just the agreed amount for your rental, the laws of physics demand that we collect $13 more.

I'd give them a little fight, but I wouldn't fight hard, it's not worth it. One conversation with an actual manager, make him or her squirm a bit. Then either go with $82, which is still a great rate, or go elsewhere.
Be careful with Advantage - they have been refusing to honor internet pricing, citing a "glitch." See thread at LVA. A couple weeks ago I walked up to the counter with a copy of my reservation (booked thru their own website) and an email from Advantage with "guaranteed" rate. Despite protestations from myself and the customer at the next counter, who had the same rate, they would only rent to us if we paid DOUBLE the original rate. When I asked to speak to the manager he was conveniently "in a meeting." Rather than waste any more time ranting and raving, I walked thirty feet to the PayLess counter and used my back-up reservation. Ten minutes later we were cruising down Las Vegas Blvd. Never again will I even think about renting from the crooks at Advantage. Sometimes If it sounds to good to be true....
