Car rentals daily / weekly

Been looking at rental rates for Oct. 23-27 or 28. Arriving very late on 22nd so by the time get to rental car will be 23rd. I input getting car 12:30 a.m. On 23rd and car rental company jumps me to weekly rate. If I put in picking up at 12:00 noon I get daily rate. Price difference between daily rate and weekly is ~$100. Any ideas or suggestions how to get daily rate?

Well to answer your question......sorry I haven't been back to check lately. Too darn busy. I looked at 10/23-10/28. Put in those dates and get returned a weekly rate with all the taxes/fees average across all the reputable companies is about $240. I then tried taking 1 day off the end and got a daily rate that was $100+less than weekly rates. We will be coming back from side trip on 10/26 so to get best rate we are going to rent 10/23-10/26 then drop car off and get a different car for last 2 days. Turns out it is cheaper by about $60. Anyone have any other ideas please make a suggestion.

If taking a day off the rental period means big savings, I'd strongly consider taking a taxi from the airport to your hotel. $20 will get you most places on the strip. You're arriving late, and likely don't need the car until the next day anyhow.

Then on your first full day in town, you could either take the bus over the airport and rent at the reduced daily rate you like. Or consider renting somewhere on the strip and dropping the car at the airport. In my experience, you'll avoid all the airport-specific fees that way, and rental companies often don't impose a drop charge for in-town one-ways like that.
