CAT Buses

Keep racking up those DUI's and the Duece seems logical!!!!
I love taking the bus in Vegas. Yes, you have to wait periodically but as others have said the website is very helpful and can help with trip planning and timing. I don't drink very much but I think having a car -- though admittedly convenient in some respects -- is just an annoyance in Vegas and I always worry about someone dinging it, my having issues when I turn it in, etc. Though I have to wait for the bus sometimes, I feel more "free" and relaxed when I DON'T rent a car. My primary motivation for taking the bus is NOT price and I would assume that would be the same for many others. It's all about what makes the individual feel most relaxed and comfortable while in Vegas.
Note that Vegas' bus system hasn't been called CAT for a couple years. It's mostly referred to as RTC Transit these days. Also, the Downtown Transportation Center closed last year. Its function was moved a couple blocks south to the much-nicer Bonneville Transit Center.
Yes I guess I forgot to call it BTC. I wouldn't recommend walking there from downtown. It's a LONG three blocks or so and the route passes the jail. I was lucky that there were other people walking the route at the same time I was and I could walk with them. Kinda creepy to walk it alone, especially if you're a woman.

i think the sr discount is now 62, a moving target.

I know when we got our senior discount ID card it was 60, but that was a couple of years ago. Their web site still says "60+, or a medicare card", but their web site is not always up to date.
i bus it around town about one trip in three. I rarely bus it when I am staying on the strip, as the deuce is not luggage friendly, I think. I loved the 108 before the rtc became btc, and still plan to use it when I'm camped at la hilton, or whatever it'll be named next. WAX is the route I'll use in november even if I have to wait 45 minutes, since i wont have a weekend rate (but I'll take a shot at priceline just before leaving for LAS). The FSE stops are now adequately marked for elder eyes, but you're better off knowing where you're going before heading there, since it's hot'r'n'hell and i don'wanna be schlepping a bag to the wrong spot. Finally, thanks for the easy-listening correction for a poster with an opinion. Flaming back always makes me change strings, and there are things i liked to read toward the end... And Good Luck!
