Ceasars to downtown w/rental car

My mom and I will be staying at Caesars and will have a car. We will probably go downtown a couple of times during our 5 days; wondering what is the fastest way to get downtown, without compromising safety? It seems like I-15 would be the way to go, but then I see a lot of people recommend Industrial, which looks good as it goes right behind Caesars/the strip. My only concern w/Industrial is that it looks like it may go through some bad neighborhoods once you get close to downtown? If so, should I cut over to the strip at some point?

Suggestions would be appreciated.

I-15 will almost always be your best bet.
agree with Chilcoot. Early in the day, however (before 10:00?) I like taking Las Vegas Blvd all the way downtown. Not too much traffic and a very interesting drive....
Frank Sinatra which is right behind where you exit the Caesars parking garage takes you to Industrial. Take Industrial North to Wyoming, right on Wyoming and then a left on Main Street all the way downtown. As an option, you can go one more light on Wyoming and take Las Vegas Blvd downtown where you will pass the Little White Wedding Chapel and the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop (from the show Pawn Stars). During the middle of the day I-15 is frequently backed up with accidents that occur near the Sahara exit and it always slows down by Charleston when you need to get on 95 South to get downtown. Industrial is a much safer and less hectic drive as you won't encounter the crazy drivers that you do on I-15. If you do go this way, it is worth a stop at the Gamblers Store on Main Street which you will pass on your left side.

Thanks Larry - this looks good to me. When I looked at a map, I was thinking Wyoming was the place to turn right, but wasn't sure if that was in a bad 'hood or not. Then, I didn't realize that I should turn left on Main Street and thought I had to go down to LVB, which to me seems to defeat the purpose of going "the back way." I'd rather skip LVB because I've been down there a million times, so nothing I'd miss out on by not going that way. Very helpful!
We usually go down Main and always make a stop at Gamblers General Store. There is another gambling store right across the street from them but hadn't ever noticed them before so we stopped in there too. They had some cheaper prices than Gamblers General Store.

We also stopped at the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop. We hit it at the right time - no line to get in (there was one when we left). Fun to look around at all the stuff in the shop. Bought a souvenir tshirt.
I agree with Larry. Industrial to Wyoming to Main St. is the best way to go.
Yes, the Industrial to Wyoming to Main Street route is a good one! I've been using it for many years and I've never had any problems with that route.

As a matter of fact, you can go further South on Industrial and take it to Hotel Rio Road and take it around and it will lead you to Rio, Gold Coast and Palms.

Also, before Hotel Rio Road is (If I'm remembering correctly Twain which you can turn right on and have an easier way to get to the LVA (Huntington Press) offices.
