Credit Card?? Delta or Southwest?

Trying to decide which card is best. Yearly fee I know is different by approx. $40. I know Southwest baggage is free and Delta one bag is free with having card. From what I have read from some people, getting flights that you want are limited from Delta and Southwest no problems. From Detroit, Southwest prices are usually higher then Delta for example to Las Vegas.

So any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. We usually fly approx. 4 times a year. DJH
I have had the Southwest card for years. Southwest, as you know, charges no baggage fees( first 2 bags). Also there are no flight change fees, and if you can't make your scheduled flight the money you paid for your ticket is there for you to use on a future flight (there for a year). Points for future flights never expire. On your card anniversary, they give you enough points to pay for the yearly card fee. For me, there is no comparison.
Ditto all of that.

From what I read on Flyertalk, Delta awards are pretty hard to come by.

We use only Southwest for Las Vegas trips. We change or cancel and rebook our flights often - to take advantage of lower fares, better flight times/days, etc.

Even though we have awards available to us on American and Delta from past flights, we are saving them for "someday."

Once you learn the ropes of Southwest sales, you won't think they are higher priced. There may be a good sale next week as historically, October is a good month. More info:

Make sure when you apply for the Southwest card that you get the 50,000 point offer ("two free flights" - which are round trips) and not the lower "one free flight" offer.

Rebooking is a good perk with Southwest. I have rebooked several times when prices drop. It is painless process and great to save 50-100 bucks when you do so.
The Delta card also includes one companion ticket for $99. If the regular price is $300, you save $200.
This happens every year when you pay the $95 annual fee.

The Delta Platinum is $150 and includes a free companion ticket voucher. So if you know you will be using it, the extra $55 saves you another $44 vs the Gold $99 companion fare. (99-55)
The "savings" you think you get with the Delta card are eaten up in bag fees- and if you need to change your flight or don't take your flight you will pay stiff penalties to do so. To me , there is no comparison. Just my opinion.
I'm not familiar with the Delta program but I'm very pleased with the Southwest card for all of the reasons that drmilled has stated. I hope that my cheesehead buddy is getting good use out of his program.
I actually have 2 SWA cards (pers & bus) on same frequent flyer account. Havn't paid for the last 100+ flights because of it (flight changes at no cost -even switch the early bird charges). Helps that we are a mini-hub, so direct flights most anywhere.
