Dollar Express question

I recently joined the Express program. Probably going to rent from them on my up coming May trip. From what I understand by researching old posts here, the Express allows you to bypass the counter, and go directly to the booth downstairs. Is this correct? Any other tips or advice?

Last time I did that I slipped the boothling a $20 along with my credit card and license and said "sure would like a convertible". She saw to it I got the convertible that would have rented for 4 times what I paid.

The system has changed and you now go directly to a numbered space as an express member. Your assigned car and contract are waiting for you. You get in and drive off.

I joined Dollar Express before I went out and I'm glad I did, I bypassed the counter and went to the booth downstairs, my name wasn't on the board so I asked the boothling and he told me which space. I was probably in the car rental area for a total of 2 minutes.
