Dollar rates are high - why?

I usually can get a rate around $20-25 a day using the citycode at Dollar. Going to Vegas Sept 13-16 and started looking at rates in July. They were around $35 a day so I didn't book yet. Used to come down but now they are around $40 a day. Anyone know why they went up so much. Been a couple years since we've been to Vegas so not sure what the normal rates are now.

I booked in June for November trip with Alamo and got $24.65 per day for full size. I like to get it for $18 so have been checking everyday to see if it dropped at all and no luck. Always a little higher. Try booking with Alamo with codes AD3868JST and 7014926. Good luck.

Doesn't Hertz own Dollar now which would explain the prices.

I'm going later this month.....booked Fox of all people in January 5 days 4 nights for $163 all in. I chuckled when I booked, thinking I would surely rebook. Rates have done nothing but go up and up some more. Glad I booked early, not glad that I'm stuck with Fox. No idea what's going on with the rates. Cheapest I'm seeing now is $230.

Alamo was higher than Dollar for our dates, however, Dollar is finally starting to come back down. Booked at $32 a day and will keep checking for decreases.
