Downtown Car Rental

I am looking for some information on renting a car from downtown. This is our 6th trip and we usually rely on the busses and our feet, but we want to venture out a bit this trip. We would only want it for 1-2 days and are flexible on the day(s). Is it generally cheaper on the weekend or weekdays? Also, we will be there Easter weekend, so not sure if a holiday is more/less expensive. And, what is considered a one day rental if you pick it up early morning what time would the car have to be returned for into be a one day rental. Would we be better to reserve it ahead of time or just wait until we are there. Finally, what can we expect to pay for a mid sized rental? I'd appreciate any insight from experienced car renters! I can help with some of this.

Car rental days are 24 hours long. The clock starts when you rent it, no matter when that is.

For the best rate, it's almost always best to rent in advance, although I suppose there are occasional exceptions.

If you have access to common discounts (AAA, USAA, Costco), you should be able to get a midsize downtown from Budget (Golden Nugget) or Hertz (Plaza) most days of the week for $45 or so all in.

Four Queens also has some kind of Car Rental place also (I think it's Budget [or maybe it's Avis -- I can't remember right now) right by the Hotel Registration.
