When is the best time of day to drive from Las Vegas to Santa Barbara Cal to avoid traffic and slow-downs, also the reverse back to LV ?

From Las Vegas to Santa Barbara, I'd say that maybe you should leave after 10AM but I don't know about traffic in Santa Barbara or which Freeways/Highways you might be taking between the two (such as if you'll be going through Los Angeles [where I live] or taking some other route).

How do you plan to go in each direction?

I don't know, the quickest way I guess. Should I go around LA or not, I have no idea. I don't drive much west.
