Early Bird! The earlier you buy..the better your seat??

Rip off to some, peace of mind for others. I always get the EB for the return flight because I don't want to have to remember checking in 24 hrs in advance when I'm enjoying myself in Vegas. For me, I just don't like the middle seat.
The cost? Geez, $10 vs all the money spent when you're in Vegas is pretty miniscule. imho

Champ, I agree it's worth the piece of mind. For me, it helps make flying less stressful.

At McCarren last Wednesday, a flight to LAX was cancelled for whatever reason. The gate attendant basically said some passengers would get on 1 of 2 flights leaving in 2 to 3 hours and instructed passengers to go to 1 of 2 gates. He then said if you were A1 - 30 you'd probably get on the 1st flight, A30 - 60 probably get on the second flight same for those with B boarding passes, then said those with C boarding passes would have to wait to see what seats are available. He basically said those with C boarding passes were out of luck.

the more you pay for the ticket the lower the number you receive

Bingo - That is the correct answer. If you pay the same price as someone else, they go by who paid for the Early Bird first.

Thanks Lisa. Between you and Fredo I know I made the right decision!

I do hate to read what djlevin and bgholtz just wrote about the "more you paid for the ticket lower number you recieve !"
"The more you pay"... I don't think so (unless you are a business select). All my flights are free and I always buy the EB. 90% of the time I'm in the first 30 and usually around 2o/21.
Usually my wife is the next number, but since I have to book her companion pass seperately we have had a few times when there are a few numbers between us. One time she got a number 20 below mine and I had booked her flight a month after mine. The explantation...someone on an EB and cancelled.
Thanks capt!
