early boarding charge for an air tran flight

i was charged 12.50 for early boarding on a flight bought on southwest but operated by air tran. Air tran has a select seats for $10 not early boarding. will I get an early boarding pass to get on the plane after everyone who selected seats are seated? This makes southwest look like a thief.
How could you be charged for early boarding unless you asked for it? Also you are correct there is no early boarding on Air Tran. You can buy a seat or get one assigned at check-in.
Does your flight have legs that are both Southwest & AirTran? If so and you purchased EB for the Southwest leg, the charge is still 12.50. It doesn't apply to the AirTran portion.
the second leg of the trip is a 40 minute flight. if this was my only flight I would not purchase early boarding. I should have been warned that I would also have to pay $10 additional for the first leg. I do not think that they handled this in an honest way.

called customer relations and got the EB fee refunded. I then paid to select seats.

I guess that your first knee jerk reaction was to bitch and moan instead of doing the adult thing and try getting satisfaction by calling customer service.
